Testate estates

Even where a deceased person has left a valid will it may still be necessary to instruct a probate genealogist.

One or more of the persons named in the will may have moved or died since the will was written. Alternatively, the will may have made a class gift, a gift to people of a certain specified category, such as “my grandchildren”. The whereabouts of all the deceased’s grandchildren may not be known and it may be necessary to engage a probate genealogist to find them.
